This website is funded by the Council for Biotechnology Information. The Council for Biotechnology Information is comprised of six different companies, who are committed to the responsible development and application of plant biotechnology. These companies include: BASF, Bayer, Dow AgroSciences, DuPont Pioneer, Monsanto Company and Syngenta.

GMO Answers is a community focused on constructive discussion about GMOs in order to have open conversations about agriculture and GMOs.

GMO Answers is focused on answering questions specifically related to biotechnology, GM crops and agriculture. We work to ensure that the content and answers provided by experts and companies is accurate. Former Executive Director of the Council for Biotechnology Information, Cathy Enright, explains the accuracy of research and studies cited on this site:

“Much of the research on GMOs is done by the companies themselves or by independent laboratories working under contract with the companies. In both cases, proper scientific procedures are followed. When studies are published in the scientific literature, they routinely include an explanation of the source of funding for the study and a note of any conflicts of interest that the authors may have. We believe the research we cite is supported by proper, credible scientific research.”
