Expert Bio

I am currently working as an Assistant Professor of Weed Science in the department of Agronomy at the Kansas state University Western Agricultural Research Center, Hays, KS. I have earned my Ph.D. at the Montana State University-Bozeman in plant science with major focus on weed science. Prior to my position at KSU, I also worked as Postdoc in weed science program at the Montana State University Southern Agricultural Research Center, near Huntley, MT for 2 years. My research program at KSU focuses on understanding the weed biology and ecology and developing integrated weed management strategies for dryland cropping systems, especially in winter wheat, corn, sorghum, soybeans, and sunflower.

I have authored or co-authored 30 peer-reviewed journal articles. I am a member of Weed Science Society of America, Northcentral Weed Science Society, Western Society of Weed Science, and American Society of Agronomy. I also serve on the editorial board of American Society of Agronomy journal. I am currently a graduate faculty in the department of agronomy graduate training program at KSU, and mentor graduate students. I grew up in a small village of Punjab, India and my interest in agriculture began early in the childhood while helping my dad on a small family farm.
