Rakesh Ranjan, Ph.D.

Expert Bio

Rakesh Ranjan received his PhD in cellular and molecular toxicology from North Carolina State University in 2009.  As part of his doctoral work, he investigated DNA damage response pathways, cell signaling and carcinogenesis. He joined Bayer (BCS) as a Regulatory Toxicologist in 2009. He has six years of experience in safety assessment of biotech crops. His expertise includes designing and monitoring toxicology, nutritional, and allergenicity studies to assess safety of proteins, whole foods, and processed grain fractions. He is also involved in development of innovative testing strategies and experimental programs to evaluate safety of biotech crops.
