Dirk Fischer, Ph.D.

In his role as Cereal Quality Manager, Dirk Fischer is responsible for baking quality, seed quality and genetic integrity testing of Wheat Breeding in Europe.

Prior to his current role, Dirk was Lab Manager Vector QC for BASF Plant Science. Previously, for seven years, Dirk ran a start-up company called Array-On GmbH, which specialized in SNP genotyping microarrays and Gene Expression (Crop Plant / Human Genetics).

After studying Biology, Plant Molecular Biology and Genetics in Frankfurt, Germany, Dirk earned his PhD in Molecular Marker Development and Application and did his postdoc at the IPK Institute of Plant Genetics and Crop Plant Research in Gatersleben, Germany.
