Expert Bio

Dan Randolph joined Dow AgroSciences in 2011 as a molecular biologist in the Traits, Genetics and Technologies laboratories supporting the Seeds and Traits business. In his role, Dan has led zygosity testing of core crops including corn, cotton, canola and sunflower. Zygosity testing is critical to determine the allelic status of value adding genes in elite plant lines to develop advanced hybrids to enter the market and serve the needs of the growing world.

In 2013, Dan assumed the role of lead biologist and corn sub-team leader in the High Throughput Molecular Analysis (HTMA) laboratory. He is currently leading zygosity testing of corn plants to support the development of important corn products for the company. Dan also recently led the HTMA team in the implementation of an ISO 17025 accredited quality management system.

In addition to his work in the lab, Dan provides leadership for the Dow AgroSciences’ Hunger Solutions Network, an employee driven program to improve food security in Indianapolis as well as global communities. He also promotes Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) efforts through the Dow AgroSciences’ Science Ambassadors. Dan’s volunteerism extends on a personal level through his efforts in the development and implementation of the Three Days Project, a non-profit organization he helped co-found in 2009.

Dan earned a bachelor of science degree in biology from Indiana University and a master’s degree in biology from Purdue University.
