A former journalist and public affairs consultant, I grew up in the United States but have lived and worked in Europe for the past 25 years.

I joined Monsanto (now Bayer) in December 2012 from First Solar, a leading producer of photovoltaic panels and solar power plants and before joining First Solar, I worked as a public affairs consultant in the Brussels office of APCO Worldwide and specialized in projects related to EU food, technology, transportation, and competition policies.

In my journalism days, I was a foreign correspondent for The Wall Street Journal, The International Herald Tribune and Dow Jones Newswires in Europe for 15 years, reporting on a wide range of European business and political topics including German unification, technology regulation, food safety and the automotive sector from Frankfurt and Brussels.

I was educated at Wabash College in Indiana, the universities of Vienna and Basel, and Columbia University’s Graduate Schools of Journalism and International and Public Affairs in New York.
