Question

In Steinkes 2010 paper on the effect of GE corn in particular, MON810 on lactating cows, it is noted that out of the 36 cows in total, 9 cows from both the control and the main group fell ill and were replaced. It is claimed that they did no analysis on these cows. It is possible the ones in the main group got ill due to the GM food. So did they actually analyze the ill cows or not? If not, why is it used in many papers and reviews as good evidence of GM food being safe?
