Siva is a Senior Team Leader in the Transformation and Analysis group with Syngenta Crop Protection, Inc., located in Research Triangle Park (RTP), N.C. There, he leads a Transgenic Technology team to create and deliver transgenic corn and soy plants with various trait genes for research and commercial projects. Siva earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Botany from Loyola College, Chennai, India. Later, he received two Masters degrees in Botany and Mycology from Madras Christian College and Vivekananda College at University of Madras in India, respectively. Later he obtained his Ph. D degree in Botany from the Centre for Advanced Study in Botany at University of Madras in India. He conducted postdoctoral research at the Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, San Diego, California studying rice biotechnology through a Rockefeller Foundation fellowship. In 2009 Siva joined Syngenta as Research scientist in the maize transformation team. He gradually moved higher into senior level scientist and later became a leader of that team to cater to the transgenic needs of various research scientists and projects at Syngenta.
