I have nine years of experience working as a toxicologist and toxicologic pathologist in the pharmaceutical, biotech and pesticide industries. I most recently served as a toxicology manager for the various ag biotech products at the Mahyco Company for Monsanto. I have been responsible for assessing the potential toxicity hazards and human health risks of various ag biotech products. I have postgraduate degree in Veterinary Pathology from Nagpur University in India and am a member of the Society of Toxicologic Pathology in India.

A: Bt brinjal is as safe as conventional brinjal. Before any GMO crop can be grown for commercial production and used for food or feed, it must undergo extensive testing for scientists to understand whether it is as safe as its conventional counterpart.
