There is currently a ban in Kenya; however, Kenyan officials have stated they will lift the ban in October, 2015. There is also a 10 year moratorium, beginning in 2011, on GM cultivation in Peru. You can read more about this law in Spanish and English.

 

Approvals for importing, growing or researching GM crops can vary from country to country. Please read this response from Cathy Enright, former executive director of the Council for Biotechnology Information, for more information.
