Bioengineered foods have been consumed for nearly 20 years with no overt consequences on human health reported and/or substantiated in peer-reviewed literature. Additionally, a large number of worldwide experts, including the World Health Organization, American Dietetic Association and European Commission, agree that GMOs are safe for human consumption.
