I am a plant biotechnologist was has been working in the Regulatory Organization since 2000. During this time, I have had the opportunity to interact with researchers, academics, representatives of companies, regulators, farmers and consumers from different Latin American countries interested in GM crops. I received my Doctor of Sciences degree in Plant Genetic Engineering (CINVESTAV-IPN,  México, 1996).

A: Thank you for your message; there are important topics in your question that I´ll address individually.   First, I want to share with you important information about the reproductive biology of maize.  Maize is a natural cross-pollinated crop and it is expected to outcross with sexually compatible plants in its proximity assuming certain environmental conditions are met (e.g. wind, temperature and relative humidity).
