Question

What would you do if you found out there is a possibility that your GMO products are very harmful to our health, and the environment?

Why have you not taken basic steps to do basic research on the products people are ingesting on a daily basis? You have obviously taken the time and money to bribe and try different things to protect your name. Why isnt science one of those things?

Our companies spend many years studying the food and environmental safety of our products. Assertions to the contrary are simply false. So, too, are accusations about bribery.

I appreciate your question, however, as it gives us an opportunity to refute misinformation about our industry that has thrived for years online and in social media. One of the reasons we launched GMO Answers is to provide factual answers to questions about our companies and our products.

We are committed to full disclosure of scientific research related to the health and safety of GM seeds. We will not cut corners on safety. We are also required by law to provide information that is not favorable to our product—failure to disclose information about adverse effects to the relevant authorities, whether deliberate or unintentional, may not only jeopardize product approvals but is a crime, punishable by significant fines. In submitting food safety information to the government for review, we cannot and would not pick and choose which research to present.
